NEW! A farm or ranch is a great place to learn and have fun. However, it is a place to work, not a place to play. Many dangers exist on farms and ranches, so it’s important for visitors to remain safe at all times.

NFCC Luncheon & Symposium broadcast

The 2008 annual luncheon in celebration of National Farm-City Week also included a symposium and live radio show broadcast of AgriTalk.  Host Mike Adams moderated a lively discussion on the topic of "Combating Hunger in America" with a panel of distinguished leaders from industry, academia and non-profit organizations.

The Symposium panelists are shown in the above photo from left to right: Amy Still, Auburn University student; Dr. Donald E. Conner, Auburn UniversityDepartment of Poultry Science, Department Head & Professor; Haley Walker, Auburn University student; Mike Adams, NFCC Board Member and AgriTalk host; Will Gilmer, President, Alabama Young Farmers; and NFCC President Al Pell.

The luncheon program continued the focus on combating hunger with special recognitions and presentation of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture® Book of the Year Award

The Alabama Farm-City Committee, one of the most active state Farm-City groups, co-hosted the event in Birmingham, AL.
