Every year, on the week preceding Thanksgiving, The National Farm-City Council celebrates the important partnership between farm and city folk in providing our nation with a bounty of food and fiber.
Kick-off Luncheon & Symposium Nov. 20
This year, the National Farm-City Council Luncheon and Symposium at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama on November 20 will kick-off Farm-City Week celebrations throughout the country.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Central Time, when the national radio show AgriTalk will broadcast live from the Farm-City Symposium. AgriTalk host and National Farm-City Council board member Mike Adams will moderate a lively discussion on the topic of “Combating Hunger in America” with a panel of distinguished leaders, including Dr. Bill Hardy from Auburn University, Will Gilmer, President of the Alabama Young Farmers, and other representatives from industry, academia and non-profit organizations.
Following the hour-long broadcast, the discussion will continue between the panel and attendees.
The luncheon program includes a continued focus on combating hunger, special recognitions and presentation of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture® Book of the Year Award. |
