The Charles Eastin Outstanding Service Award
The late Dr. Charles Eastin's passion and dedication for the work of the Farm-City Council has inspired all of us who work on behalf of promoting a greater understanding between rural and urban folk. To recognize the contributions of the hundreds of volunteers who make Farm-City events a reality across the United States, The National Farm-City Council has named a special award, the Charles Eastin Outstanding Service Award, in Charlie's memory.
The Charles Eastin Outstanding Service Award will be presented to an outstanding individual who has contributed to Farm-City activities as an advocate for accurate communications between Farm and City. The first recipient will receive the award at the National Farm-City Week Kick-off and Symposium in Lexington, Kentucky on November 17, 2011.
Dr. Eastin played an important role as a board member of the National Farm-City Council. He served as the 35th Chairman of the NFCC from 1992-1994 and for many years, has chaired and served on many committees.
